Frequently asked questions
Is the corporate carbon footprint (CCF) audit-ready?
The calculation methodology is TÜV Rheinland certified and built on the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064. An integrated audit trail with dedicated auditor access makes every line item traceable.
Is Tanso prepared for the upcoming ESPR and Digital Product Passport requirements?
Yes. The product-level data from your PCF calculations forms the basis for DPP and ESPR requirements. As soon as the final delegated acts for your product category are available, Tanso will provide the corresponding export and documentation formats.
Can Tanso account for the use-phase emissions of my devices?
Yes. For electrical devices with a long service life, downstream emissions (Scope 3.11) often make up the majority of the life cycle. Tanso calculates cradle-to-grave PCFs including the use phase according to ISO 14067 and lets you compare variants to optimize energy efficiency and repairability.
What do I do if my tier 2 and tier 3 suppliers cannot provide primary data?
You start with industry-specific secondary factors for semiconductors, PCBs, metals and plastics and close data gaps step by step via the integrated supplier portal. Data quality becomes visible for each component, so you can prioritize where primary data has the biggest impact.
How do I calculate PCFs for products with deeply nested bills of materials?
Tanso PCF Pro supports hierarchical bills of materials and an extended component library. Changes to materials or suppliers propagate automatically through the entire structure, without having to rebuild the dataset.
How does Tanso fit into our existing IT landscape (SAP, ERP, PLM)?
Tanso is ERP, PLM and data lake compatible. You get started with structured CSV imports, and API integrations with SAP or other systems can follow later. No ERP overhaul required.
How do I deliver CCF data for CDP requests from my customers or for conversations with banks?
Tanso creates corporate carbon footprints according to the GHG Protocol and ISO 14064, including Scope 1, 2 and 3. You can export the results directly for CDP responses, sustainability requests from your customers and financing discussions with banks and investors, including proof of methodology and an audit trail.
